Summery: American Vampire follows two stories: one written by Snyder and one written by King.
Snyder's tale follows Pearl, a young woman living in 1920s Los Angeles, who is brutally turned into a vampire and sets out on a path of righteous revenge against the European monsters who tortured and abused her.
King's story is set in the days of America's Wild West, readers learn the origin of Skinner Sweet, the original American vampire – a stronger, faster creature than any vampire ever seen before.

Why I read this Comic
A badass vampire themed comic book set in the 1920s and written by Scott Snyder & Stephan King #Amazing
My thoughts
This Comic was freaking amazing. . .
Snyder and King do an amazing job at telling two different story's, yet still making them entwine
beautifully. At the beginning of this book we meet Pearl, a young 1920s woman who's trying to make a name for herself in the acting scene. We follow Pearl as she is brutally turned into a vampire and
follow her as she try's to get revenge on the evil people who did it to her. The 1920s is one of my personal favourite eras, it just screams glamour and style, Rafael Albuquerque managed to capture it perfectly with his illustrations.
Kings story is set in the rugged and dirty time of the Wild West, In this story we learn the origin of Skinner Sweet, the original American Vampire. . . Skinner is a brand new type of vampire, he's stronger and faster then any other kind of vampire seen before. I loved the way Snyder and Kings didn't create fluffy loveable vampires, they made them evil and terrifying.
Vol. 1 of American Vampire features books 1-5# in the series, this comic is also in full colour, which made this book all the more magical to read. The illustrations were really some of the best I've seen in a long time, with a fantastic use of dramatic colours, Rafael Albuquerque really managed to capture the tone of this book.
Overall Impressions – Vamptastic
This comic was really amazing, you need to read it. . . The illustrations were really incredible .
